Yardi Scholars

Yardi Scholars - Energized For Good - Logo

Launched in Fall 2024, the Yardi Scholars Program brings together first-generation undergraduate students in the UCLA Economics Department for a personalized, career-oriented mentorship program.

The goal of Yardi Scholars is to increase the number of first-generation students who attend, persist, and graduate from UCLA within four years by offering a cohort-based experience with scholarship support, career pathways, and campus-wide community. Through personalized guidance, tailored workshops centered on financial wellness, academic success, career pathways, and hands-on learning, Yardi Scholars will graduate from UCLA with the confidence and support to successfully enter business and finance careers.

  • Erin Nosco, Program Advisor
    Erin Nosco

    Erin is a first-generation transfer student who graduated with her B.S. degree in Neuroscience from UCLA. She worked in brain imaging research until a job as a peer counselor for transfer students inspired her to pursue a career in student affairs. She has worked as a college admissions specialist, school counselor, and in community college settings. Helping diverse students find their passion and purpose is a huge motivator. In her free time Erin enjoys reading, traveling, and practicing Japanese.

  • Carina Salazar, Executive Director, Career and Immersive Experiences
    Carina Salazar

    Carina Salazar, MA is the Executive Director for Career and Immersive Experiences at UCLA. This position provides direct leadership for the Career Center and oversight for First to Go program and the Transfer Student Center. Carina is a proud UCLA alumnus who was a transfer and first-generation student herself, and brings more than 24 years of caring, thoughtful, and supportive student service and leadership experiences to this critical role. Carina's passion to help UCLA students reach their personal and professional aspirations runs deep from her time supporting students as an Academic Advancement Program counselor for 17 years to serving as an effective leader over the last 7+ years in various roles with the UCLA Career Center, Transfer Student Center, and Bruin Resource Center.
