Located in Hedrick Hall, the First To Go Living Learning Community (LLC) offers an inclusive residential experience specifically designed for UCLA’s first-generation college students. The LLC fosters academic success by providing a supportive, engaging environment that encourages personal growth and community connections. By living in this community, students navigate their college journeys with dedicated support, specialized resources, and meaningful connections to peers, faculty, and staff who deeply understand the first-gen experience. The LLC’s primary goal is to enhance visibility and pride around first-generation identity, and to create a welcoming community grounded in shared experiences, understanding, and encouragement.Note: Our program defines a “first-generation college student” as a student whose parent(s)/guardian(s) have not received a four-year U.S. degree. All students, regardless of cultural heritage, identity, or major, are encouraged to apply and join our community.
